The FSC-certified timber decking was installed along the Kwun Tong Promenade, and this small off-cut was discarded during large-scale replacement works. The tropical hardwood, ipe, is very high density and not prone to warping or splitting. The hardwood does not absorb coatings well as is evidenced by the failed attempt to paint the faded boards.
