Recycled Transparent PET Plastic

This PET sample, produced by Plastic Wood Studio, is derived from recycled #1 plastic collected in Hong Kong. This type is most commonly used in single-use consumer products, and is found in liquid bottles and some packaging. After cleaning waste materials, this material was sorted, shredded, and collected. This plastic can be melted and reproduced to make plastic string and 3D print.

Plastic Wood Studio (https://www.facebook.com/plasticwoodstudio/) was founded in March 2019 by Laura Li Nogueira and Boy Yiu Kwan-ho as a workspace for plastic recycling and manufacturing. In Hong Kong, plastic waste comprises the third largest category of municipal solid waste in landfills. Plastic Wood Studio works to recycle local materials to advocate for waste reduction and clean recycling in Hong Kong.
