Recycled PP Plastic Panel

This sample, produced by Plastic Wood Studio, is created from the shredded plastic produced by New Life Plastics (https://www.nlplastics.com.hk/). It is produced mostly out of recycled #5 plastic collected in Hong Kong deriving from recycling food containers and contact lens containers. The sample was melted and pressed into formwork as a recycled panel material.

Plastic Wood Studio (https://www.facebook.com/plasticwoodstudio/) was founded in March 2019 by Laura Li Nogueira and Boy Yiu Kwan-ho as a workspace for plastic recycling and manufacturing. In Hong Kong, plastic waste comprises the third largest category of municipal solid waste in landfills. Plastic Wood Studio works to recycle local materials to advocate for waste reduction and clean recycling in Hong Kong.
