Recycled HDPE membrane

According to the Environmental Protection Department, an average of eight billion plastic shopping bags are disposed to landfills every year. That means more than three plastic bags are generated daily per person in Hong Kong. And plastic materials are extremely difficult to decompose naturally.

This material experiment explores a new membrane material of recycled plastic bags. It is produced through hot-pressing and melting layers of recycled cut and shredded bags. Customised colours can be created. The material is lightweight, easy to shape, and waterproof.
