Peel Rise, a hiking route located in the west of Aberdeen Country Park, meanders through the shaded canopies of dense woodland. The woodland consists of a mixture of introduced species as well as opportunistic native species that are said to be the result of post-war afforestation efforts. Beneath the dirt tracks, lies mineral-based material such as volcanic and granitic rock, as well as a range of anthropogenic debris consisting of bricks and concrete pieces.
