Oil Street Art Space was formerly known as the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. The club opened in 1908 and was once located by the sea. After the reclamation of North Point in the 1930s, it was rezoned as an archaeological storehouse for the Antiquities and Monuments Office. In 2013, it was renamed "Oil Street Art Space" and opened to the public.
