Luffacrete

In this biophilic brick, loofah substitutes the metal reinforcements present in conventional reinforced concrete, ensuring great porosity while supplying strength and the necessary flexibility. A high content of water-cement mix is applied to the loofah structure. The loofah pores act as a water reservoir and plant anchor. The hollow brick is stuffed with a mix of planting soil, charcoal and plant seeds, allowing the growth of plants.
