Kam Tin, in the New Territories north of Tai Mo Shan, is an area with a rich cultural history. Temples, ancestral halls, and walled villages can be found in the scattered historic settlements of the area. Shui Mei Tsuen is among them, with an abundance of small collapsed and overgrown structures built with a range of different bricks. The color and texture of the bricks suggest a varied range of production and import sources.
