Eco-Glass Block was invented by the research team led by Prof. C. S. Poonm of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The technology, patented in Hong Kong, effectively uses recycled glass as a major constituent in the production of concrete blocks. As more than 300 tonnes of glass waste is generated daily in Hong Kong, this invention reduces the disposal of waste glass while preserving valuable natural resources (i.e. river sand). Porous paver block “Permeable (Eco-Glass) Paving Blocks” is supplied by Tiostone Environmental Limited. The block is 60 mm thick with a dimension of about 200 × 100mm2. The blocks are generally laid with gaps of about 3 mm which are filled with coarse sand. The material is Produced in Hong Kong by Green Island Cement Co., Ltd. **Sample has been cut in half to showcase the different components of the block**
