To improve the plasticity of the sandy soil extracted from the Water Street construction site, 30% Loess extracted in Dalian province, 30% (~1kg) sticky rice porridge, and 3-4cm long cut straw is added to the mix. The first brick (a) is kept as control sample, the second brick (b) is immersed in distilled water, the third brick (c) is immersed in saltwater.
